I'm a software developer currently working as a Senior Information Systems Officer at IndianOil Corporation. Over the past five years, I've led the development of applications that tens of millions of people use every day, rebuilt ageing enterprise infrastructure with modern backend systems and delivered measurable impact at scale.
Before going enterprise, I was at NIT Srinagar - built Kaeshir Dictionary (a Kashmiri language app with 20,000+ downloads), won AI hackathons and founded Pyrates, a peer-learning Python club that outlasted my time there.
I care about purposeful software. When I'm not shipping code, I'm writing about it - my book The Winds of Python has been read by many students. I'm more passionate about using technology to preserve the Kashmiri language and culture.
Rotated into field operations to bridge IndianOil's digital systems with on-ground execution, applying software insights directly to the plant and depot digitisation roadmap.
IndianOil's first unified digital employee directory - designed and built end-to-end as sole developer. Introduced QR-enabled digital profiles for 33,000+ employee ID cards, saving ₹3.5M annually. Includes a hybrid OCR pipeline with 90% entity recognition accuracy.
Led development of IndianOil's flagship consumer app during its native-to-Flutter migration. Built the initial architecture from the ground up - state management, network clients, platform-channel integration and a YOLO-based image verification layer - establishing patterns that the broader team scaled to 10M+ users.
A two-way Kashmiri-English dictionary with 30,000+ vocabulary entries and 2,800+ audio pronunciations, all available offline. Backed by Python data-cleaning pipelines and a lightweight Google Sheets/Apps Script backend.
AgriTech app for Kashmir's apple industry, powered by a custom CNN that outperformed ResNet and MobileNetV2 by 31% in accuracy. Recognised by the Director of Horticulture, Kashmir, pitched to the Governor of J&K, and selected for the Greenovator Grant.
A beginner Python programming book written to make Python genuinely accessible - starting from first principles with real examples. Published on Issuu, Kindle, and GitHub; read by students across India.
